Lancashire musicians Dec and Tess Sanderson raised £270 for the Music Fund from their wedding.
The Fund certainly struck a note with the couple’s guests, many of who are musicians.
Dec, a drummer, percussionist and music teacher, said: “We wanted to share our big day with a music charity and the Music Fund for Cuba was the obvious choice, as we are both fans of Cuban and Latin American music.
“Cuba is a culturally and musically rich country and we are delighted to have supported its young musicians and dancers in a small way.”
Violinist Tess added: “I thought Kirsty MacColl was the bee’s knees when I was young and supporting a charity in her memory was the icing on the cake.
“It was also a way of thanking our musical friends, who provided us with non-stop entertainment during our big day!”
A big thanks from the Music Fund for Cuba to Tess and Dec for thinking of the charity on their wedding day. If you would like to do something similar for a celebration, please get in contact and we can provide leaflets and information for your event.
