Over 1000 pairs of ballet shoes have been donated to the Play For Cuba appeal to be sent to the island in Spring 2019.
Play for Cuba is collecting new and second hand musical instruments as well as dance and arts equipment for use in schools across the blockaded island. The ballet shoes have been donated by the Royal Ballet and were delivered to the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) where they will be stored until being loaded onto the container to be sent to Cuba.
Karen Michell, RMT Legal Officer said 'We are really pleased to be able to assist the Play for Cuba appeal which is directly helping young dancers and musicians in Cuba."
